New portfolio website on the way

It's been a long time comming, and we all knew that the blogger site was a temporary solution, but work has finally begun on getting a more polished site together for your viewing pleasure. The first challenge (sorting and culling images) is complete, and I have posted the results on flickr:

Man, you quit paying attention for a minute, and suddenly you have 105 items in your photostream! There's no way I made all that stuff in the last 5 years, is there? Actually. I think I've made a fair bit more, I just haven't documented all of it yet. Or I documented it on slides, and have to find and scan them in.

As promised, a few shots from the Grad installation are up there too. I may add more at a later date.

Grad show up

Well, my time at the college is drawing to a close, and my grad piece is up. I'll be posting pictures soon.

Art: New Vogue

On Thursday, Nov 1, I will be participating in a wearable art show that is part of Art Central's 3rd birthday celebrations. The party starts at 5, the show starts at 8.

I have two collections in the show; Kite Dresses, which consists of three dresses made out of kites, (see photo) and Fall 2007's Must-have Pathogens, which is a line of accessories made out of medieval plague doctor masks and Chinese chicken feathers. (also see photo.)

The kite dress and I will be appearing on BreakfastTelevision (CityTV, channel 8) at 9:00 AM on Monday, October 29.

I will also have new paintings up for sale in Swirl gallery, as of Monday night.

I've been busy.

Gallery space

My work is now represented by Swirl Fine Art and Design, in Art Central (located at the corner of 7th Ave and Centre Street, kitty corner to the Hyatt.) The gallery is on the main floor, right beside the florist's. (lucky me!) I also work there part time, on Saturdays and either Monday or Thursday during the week. I usually have a painting or two on the go when I'm there.

I should have enough pieces together for a showing by the beginning of November.

PS: Gallery hours are 10 AM-5 PM on weekdays, and 11AM-4PM on Saturdays.
